THE COMPANY
Helms Geomarine Sdn Bhd (HELMS)is a 100% Malaysian Bumiputera company specializing in the offshore soil investigation and geotechnical engineering services, with proven track records working in both Oil & Gas and Offshore Windfarm sectors across South East Asia, the Far East, Australia and the Middle East.
Helms Geomarine owns and operates specialized assets such as marine drilling rigs, Seabed CPT, Piston Core, Vibrocore and other associated equipment, together with its own onshore laboratory testing facility, to enable it to perform the following activities:
- Geotechnical investigation for windfarm foundation design and analysis
- Geotechnical survey for offshore hydrocarbon exploration and development
- Geohazard survey for exploration Jack-up emplacement
- Geotechnical investigation for land reclamation and port development
- Submarine cable and pipeline route survey
- Marine geological research studies
The offshore soil boring is carried out from dedicated DP2 geotechnical survey vessels. The drilling rig, installed over a moonpool, is heave-compensated with a wireline system to run the WISON-APB piezocone penetration testing (PCPT), in-situ vane shear testing and coring equipment.
Helms Geomarine is certified with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 by DNV.

in Malaysia as a trading company supporting Asian Geos through sales & purchase of specialized equipment from overseas.
Acquired | 2011
51 percent of shareholding in Asian Geos Sdn Bhd providing management support and parent company guarantees for Malaysian contracts.
Emerged | 2017
as an independent offshore geotechnical contractor by acquiring a Neptune 5000 Seabed CPT and Vibrocoring System, securing works in Singapore and Batam.
Re-entered | 2018
the offshore geotechnical drilling market with its own newly built drilling rig the HG-30 and WISON-APB downhole CPT system mobilized onboard a dedicated 4-point mooring geotechnical vessel securing its first OWF project in Taiwan.
Expanded | 2021
into high end offshore geotechnical investigation services by launching two DP2 geotechnical vessels, Azuma for the offshore windfarm market and Keyfield Helms for the oil and gas market.
