specializing in the offshore soil investigation and geotechnical engineering services.
We provide specialized services in collecting geotechnical engineering design parameters.
for the foundation design of offshore structures including oil platform, pipeline, wind turbines, port and dredging or reclamation. The data collection is by means of drilling and sampling and in-situ testing from a geotechnical vessel. Our ultimate customers are the oil and gas companies, wind farm developers and port operators.

Vessel
The three geotechnical survey spreads offer a range of drilling, sampling, coring and insitu testing services via its HG30, HG30A and GV20 Drilling Rig respectively and rated to a maximum load of 30 tons fitted with Dando 1000 power swivel. An AP van den Berg WISON down-hole CPT system is also available to undertake PCPT operation in real-time.

Personnel
The level of experience of our people and their multi-disciplinary backgrounds, enable us to cater for wide ranging needs from the operation of a drilling rig, operating seabed coring and CPT testing equipment, rig move operation, geotechnical engineering to QAQC / client representation, fitted to clients’ ways of working, on either long or short term assignments.
Engineering
Helms Geomarine has a pool of experienced and qualified geotechnical engineers available to assist clients with site investigations; walkover and desktop studies; operational site supervision and soil and rock characterization. Using state-of-the-art software and industry leading equipment, we have provided site characterization and foundation assessments services for Offshore Geotechnics & Onshore Geotechnics
Laboratory
The offshore laboratory onboard the vessel, with custom-made benches, cabinets and fittings, is housed in a 20-foot container and placed on the deck of the vessel. It is air-conditioned and comes with a wash basin. Helms Geomarine has established its own onshore laboratory testing facility in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2023. The laboratory has since received ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation on 15 October 2024, demonstrating that the laboratory is operating competently and generating valid results, thereby promoting confidence to the Clients, both nationally and around the world.
